An introduction and overview of The ASAM Criteria for clinicians focused on understanding the components of The ASAM Criteria, overview of guiding principles of The ASAM Criteria, and review of major changes in the 4th edition. The presentation will focus on understanding the dimensions and subdimensions of The ASAN Criteria as well as understanding how to use The ASAM Criteria to guide decisions on support for individuals through the continuum of care. Treatment planning utilizing these guidelines will also be discussed.

We will also facilitate a collection of clothing, blankets, towels, and wash clothes at this event.

These donations will benefit homeless veterans and foster care children through the Mercy Drops Dream Center. Tailwinds Ranch (501c3) helps military, veterans, and healthcare providers find a sense of purpose, a sense of hope, reconnect in meaningful relationships, and learn to use coping skills that allow them to take back their lives.

Trauma for the LGBTQI+ Clients

This training will enhance the knowledge and skills clinicians already have to provide in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed way, trauma treatment for LGBTQI+ individuals. We will explore the unique challenges these clients experience, including issues involving discrimination, stigma and lack of understanding by a large portion of the public. Many negative experiences go back to family of origin a nd disrupted attachment issues. The workshop will include case studies and discussions to ensure participants can apply training objectives in their practice to empower, support and treat LGBTQI+ clients dealing with past trauma.
