Summit BHC is proud to be a founding sponsor of the 2017 Association of Recovery in Higher Education’s student leadership conference.
The first conference of its kind, the ARHE Collegiate Recovery Student Summit and Skiathon welcomes more than 185 students and staff from 24 collegiate recovery programs across the country to Keystone, Colorado, from February 2-5.
“We believe that collegiate recovery programs provide a strong community for people in recovery and we consider them to be part of the continuum of care,” says Daniel Krasner, assistant vice president of national business development for Summit BHC. “Research shows that people who are in collegiate recovery programs have a higher chance of long term recovery. Summit wants to not only serve the people who are suffering from an addiction substance use disorder, but also support those who are living proof that recovery is possible.”
Co-hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder Collegiate Recovery Center and the Penn State Collegiate Recovery Community, the AHRE Skiathon offers leadership workshops, presentations from nationally-recognized experts in the field of recovery, and community-building activities such as skiing, ice skating, snow tubing, and yoga.
“Summit is proud to be a founding sponsor of the Skiathon because we are heavily invested in the success and recovery of our clients,” Krasner says. Several of Summit’s facilities have direct relationships with collegiate recovery programs, including Saint Joseph Institute in Central Pennsylvania; the Ranch at Dove Tree in Lubbock, Texas; and Willingway in Statesboro, Georgia.
